"Concluded that I need to
limit my market and how much I plan to sell in order to conform
to other things I want to do. Biggest benefit was realizing this.
Goal is to paint four times as many hours a week. It fits." -Jerry
Murphy

"Just a heads-up to all of you who are interested
in taking your art to the next level . . .Mary Kroger and I attended
a wonderful class today from Barry and Blakley Assoc., Inc. called “Artist
Marketing 101 - or the Nitty Gritty Business of Marketing Your
Art.” It
was fabulous! Diane Blakley and Susan Barry were the speakers
at the January 2005 EGA meeting.
Even though I have done a lot to market my art over the past
12 years, and have met most of my marketing and financial goals,
I LEARNED SO MUCH about strengthening my portfolio, creating
effective business cards, attracting higher quality gallery shows,
targeting better markets for my art, and much much more. My head
hurt (in a good way) from all the useful information they gave
us.
I strongly encourage you to contact Diane or
Susan to sign up for their Marketing class, or for their other
classes, to take your business to the next level. Diane and Susan
are extremely organized, down-to-earth, patient, and very creative
in their advice on how to grow your own art business. No, I do
not work for them, nor do I own stock in their company (smile),
but I was impressed with their class and want to spread the word
to others. -Kanika of Kanika African Sculpture
